She Loves Golf at Waimak Gorge

Come along on the first and third Sunday of each month and have some fun learning golf, whether you're looking for a few tips or thinking about becoming the next Lydia Ko!

No clubs? - no problem, the coach will sort you out. Just wear comfortable clothing - and a smile :-)

There are two sessions at Waimakariri Golf Club:

9am - Improvers - $10 (I'm doing OK and can handle a bit more....)

10.30am - Beginners - $10 (I'm a beginner - Teach me everything!)

However, if the times don't suit you, please come along anyway - Kevin the Pro will easily accommodate you.

Waimakariri Gorge Golf Club

In 1961 a group of pro-active, keen golfers formed the Waimakariri Gorge Golf Club on crown land near the Waimakariri Gorge bridge. Over 40 years later those founder members look with great pride on a now well established and presented golf course capable of offering all golfers a very enjoyable and challenging day out. Situated at the foothills of the magnificent Southern Alps and only a 30 minute drive from Christchurch International Airport.

Course Features

Waimakariri Gorge Golf Club 'Waimak' is an 18 hole golf course which will delight and test the learner to the most experienced player. With its well manicured fairways and greens, the Waimakariri Gorge golf Course boast some of Canterbury's finest scenery.

If not for the challenging course then come and play for the spectacular gorge and river views, the snow capped mountains, the wide open spaces and the freedom of city noise and crowds.

The course has the true feel of isolation. You'll feel like your the only person playing the entire course most days.

Club Features

With ample parking and the opportunity to park up the camper or caravan while on a golfing holiday.

The club facilities are open for all players following club events on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday afternoons.

Private functions and course bookings are available. With a kitchen, bar, changing rooms and outdoor bbq area.
