Castlecliff Golf Club
Castlecliff Golf Club in Wanganui is an 18-hole course located on the West Coast of the North Island mid-way between Wellington and New Plymouth with views of Mounts Taranaki and Ruapehu as well as stunning vistas of the Tasman Sea as far as the South Island.
The Club offers a range of membership options that cater for any needs.
An automated scoring system is operated, enabling scores to be entered for players from any club affiliated to New Zealand Golf, and the Club enjoys reciprocal playing rights with Inglewood, Kaitake, Pukekohe, Waimarie Beach and Maraenui.
The course is predominantly flat with only a few undulating holes. Being on sand it is extremely well drained and standing water is almost unheard of allowing carts to be used year round. Four sets of tees are provided including Blue and White for men, Yellow for Ladies and Purple for Juniors. Fairway watering is installed on the course, which provides a consistent standard in both winter and summer. The greens are large and well maintained and are protected by numerous bunkers. The course is maintained to a very high standard by our excellent greens staff.
The club has a large and comfortable clubroom with full bar facilities, which are open on club days of Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday and on public holidays throughout the year. The club has an excellent catering contractor who provides a service on those club days and for tournaments and visiting groups, when requested.
Ladies and gents changing facilities, including showers and toilets, are available 24/7.
There are two driving bays for pre-round warm ups and a full practice driving range. The office is open everyday of the week and public holidays. Our club manager is our qualified NZPGA Teaching Professional Rodney Donaldson and coaching is available by appointment. Carts are available for hire 7 days a week.
Camping and caravan sites, both with and without power, are available for hire at very reasonable rates.
